IN VIVO MODELS

Over 25 years of experience with animal models for rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis research.

In addition to a broad panel of arthritis models, our department owns various transgenic mouse strains, spontaneous arthritis models and germ-free mice, and has expertise in creating new transgenic animals, e.g. tissue-specific inducible knockout mice.

Most frequently applied arthritis models:
Collagen-induced arthritis (CIA)
Antigen-induced arthritis (AIA)
Streptococcal cell wall-induced arthritis (SCW)
Collagen antibody-induced arthritis (CAIA)
K/BxN serum transfer arthritis
Spontaneous arthritis in IL-1Ra-deficient mice
Human RA synovium SCID mouse model
Collagenase-induced osteoarthritis (CIOA)
Osteoarthritis by destabilization of the medial meniscus (DMM)
